Australia’s sprint and marathon paddlers have a big season ahead, with key national and international events set across the country. The calendar opens with Canoe Sprint GP1 in Nagambie, Victoria, from 28–30 November 2025. Early in the new year, the action builds toward February’s Oceania Canoe Sprint/GP2 at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, bringing together the best paddlers from across the region. The spotlight then shifts west in March for the Canoe Sprint Nationals at Champion Lakes, WA — the pinnacle sprint event on the domestic calendar.
Marathon paddlers will converge in Canberra from 10–13 April 2026, when Lake Burley Griffin hosts the Canoe Marathon Nationals. This event promises a showcase of endurance racing at one of the country’s most iconic flatwater venues. Together, these sprint and marathon championships form the backbone of Australia’s paddling season, offering athletes the chance to test themselves against the nation’s best and, importantly, the opportunity to qualify for selection to an Australian international team.
