Get ready for the RPM – Australia’s Most Exciting Paddling Marathon!

Since 1988, the Marathon Canoe Club of SA has proudly hosted the Riverland Paddling Marathon (RPM), transforming it into a vibrant festival of paddling with six thrilling events spread over three days during the June Long Weekend. Each year, paddlers from across Australia converge on the stunning Murray River in South Australia’s picturesque Riverland to connect, socialize, and, most importantly, compete in our exciting paddling challenges.
The six events taking place throughout the weekend are:
1. The Murray 200 – a continuous 208 km paddle over three days from Berri to Morgan.
2. The 200 Relay – the same 208 km course from Berri to Morgan, but tackled in a relay format.
3. The Murray 100 – a 93 km course over three days, covering parts of the longer Berri to Morgan route.
4. The Murray 50 – a 49 km course over three days, sharing the first and last days with the Mini-marathon and the second day with the M100.
5. Single Day Paddle – on the Sunday of the event weekend, a 26 km journey from Devlins Pound to Walkerie.
6. Mini-marathon – a chance to experience the event by paddling 11 or 12 km on any single day or across multiple days.
The RPM is all about fun, featuring a diverse range of watercraft, including international vessels, recreational canoes and kayaks, surf skis, outriggers, surf boats, and stand-up paddleboards. The focus is always on participation and enjoyment. So, if you’re ready for an adventure, mark your calendars and prepare for this year’s Riverland Paddling Marathon!
